Regino Boti (writer)

Regino Eladio Boti , actually Regino Eladio Boti y Barreiro (born February 18, 1878 in Guantánamo , † August 5, 1958 ibid) was a Cuban writer.

Life

Boti came from a wealthy family. He studied law at the Universities of Barcelona and Havana . After graduating, he settled in his hometown.

His son Regino was a Cuban economist and first minister of economy after the Cuban revolution .

reception

Boti is considered to be one of the last representatives of Cuban modernism . Even contemporary literary criticism criticized his content with little subject matter, but praised his metrics , whereby he always tried new caesuras with his Alexandrians , applying the rules precisely .
