Regiobus is a transport company in the Gossau SG - St. Gallen - Herisau region .

history

Low-floor articulated bus from Regiobus in St. Gallen-Winkeln

In 1969 a bus line was opened between Gossau and St.Gallen Stocken under the new company Autobus AG Gossau. The vehicles were two former Postbuses and a rented bus from the St.Gallen transport company . In 1977 the transport order and the management of the lines of the Herisau transport company (with two additional Saurer buses) were taken over.

In 1989 the line was extended to Niederbüren, Herisau, Hofegg and Walter-Zoo . In 1991 the Match Express was introduced for FC St. Gallen football games and night buses. The first low-floor bus with an automatic stop display and passenger counting system went into operation in 1995. AAGG (Autobus AG Gossau) already owns eleven vehicles this year.

In 1998 a new look was implemented: AAGG became Regiobus. The line extension from St.Gallen Stocken to St. Gallen main station, which has been sought for years , will be implemented in 2003. The line thus connects St.Gallen with Gossau. In 2008, five new MAN articulated buses went into operation on the main Gossau Bhf – St. Gallen HB. Line 151 Gossau-St.Gallen has been served every 10 minutes since 2010. This year the Regiobus has 21 vehicles.
