The Regional District of Comox-Strathcona was a district in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It comprised the central part of Vancouver Island and a section on the mainland coast, was 20,015.45 km² and had 96,131 inhabitants (2001). The main town was Courtenay . On February 15, 2008, the regional district was divided into the two regional districts Comox Valley and Strathcona .
