The Regional Youth Cooperation Office ( abbreviation : RYCO, dt . : Regional Youth Cooperation Office ) is an independent international organization that was founded by the Western Balkans (WB 6) on July 4, 2016 on the occasion of the Western Balkans Conference in Paris , in order to promote the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation between young people in the region through youth exchange programs, to deepen mutual understanding and thereby bring them closer to the culture of the neighboring country.

RYCO was founded on the model of the Franco-German Youth Office under Albanian law, but without a peace treaty.

Seat

The RYCO main office is located in Tirana. Local branches are in all capitals of the region: Podgorica , Sarajevo , Skopje , Pristina , Belgrade .

organization

The basic organization of RYCO is based on Article 13 of the Statute.

The board of directors, consisting of six representatives of the WB 6 governments and six youth representatives, defines the basic direction of the organization.

The General Secretariat conducts the ordinary business of the organization in accordance with the statutes.

financing

RYCO is basically financed by the governments of the region and supported by the EU and other donors and can approach other donors of its own accord. The budget is drawn up for a period of three years.
