On both sides of the river there is an important ecosystem , which is characterized by its wetlands . The course of the river is overgrown by deciduous trees, which form an impressive contrast to the neighboring pine forests. The river can be traveled by canoes . - The land at the Arcachon basin
The sea basin with its tides forms the mouth of the river Eyre. Many local birds and especially migratory birds find food and shelter here. The Le Teich bird park allows tourists to observe this unique fauna.
