Regnaut Barbou, dit le Vieux († 1298 ) was Prévôt de Paris , Bailli of Montlhéry and Rouen and Conseiller in the Parlement .

Life

Regnaut Barbou comes from a middle class family from Chartres . In 1270 he was Prévôt de Paris. He continued the regulatory work of Étienne Boileau and provided several businesses with statutes. He also developed the right of grace for the notaries on Châtelet . In addition to his municipal office, he was Bailli de Montlhéry (1271), Bailli de Rouen (1275) and Conseiller au Parlement (1278).
