Regulator protein

A regulator protein is a protein that regulates a molecular biochemical process , i.e. either activates or slows it down. The most important processes regulated in this way are catalytic ( enzyme ) activity , translation , transcription and proteasome activity. Transcription regulators are also called transcription factors . In connection with enzyme activity, regulation is usually negative. The for regulatory proteins coding genes called regulatory genes .
