Meidling rehabilitation center
The AUVA Rehabilitation Center Meidling in Köglergasse 2a in the 12th district of Meidling is adjacent to the Meidling Accident Hospital and, like it, is operated by the AUVA General Accident Insurance Fund .
history
The Meidling Rehabilitation Center was built between 1966 and 1968 according to plans by the architects Gustav Peichl and Rudolf Weber . The opening was made on May 6, 1968 by the Austrian President Franz Jonas .
task
The main task of the Rehabilitation Center Meidling is the rehabilitation of people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury ( SHT) in an accident at work . This rehabilitation center is the only one in Austria that is dedicated only to such patients.

- Evoked potentials (all modalities including magnetic stimulation)
- Physiotherapy including locomotion therapy (treadmill), reducing measures, manual therapy
- Occupational therapy including occupational workshop ET (occupational therapy)
- Speech therapy including dysphagia therapy
- Neuropsychology including neuro-training
The facilities of the neighboring accident hospital are available for examinations with the computer tomograph, the magnetic resonance tomograph and the laboratory.
More than 300 patients are treated annually in the rehabilitation center with around 50 beds.
