The 874 m high Reichenstein belongs to the municipality of Stadlern in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf , Bavaria, and is located north of Stadlern and east of State Road 2159 . The Reichenstein castle ruins are located on the summit of the Reichenstein . From the hiking car park on the Hochfels in Waldhäuser Straße in Stadlern, a hiking trail leads over the Hochfels ridge to Reichenstein. Until 2008 there were several ski lifts and a summer toboggan run on Reichenstein . Both facilities were abandoned as unprofitable . The long and not too steep slope below the former ski center is used by the children in the area for sledding .
