The house Reichenstraße 42 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .
location
It is located in the northern part of the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The building is entered in the Quedlinburg monument register as an arable citizen house . To the north is the building Reichenstrasse 41 , which is also listed , and to the south is the house Reichenstrasse 43 .
Architecture and history
The core of the two-storey half - timbered house probably dates from 1666. The upper storey, which is provided with a row of windows , protrudes very far over the ground floor. The house is covered by a high, steep roof.
The facade was redesigned in the classicism era with a square and cornice. The windows and gate of the house in their current form date from around 1840.
