Reidar Visser

Reidar Visser (born August 25, 1971 ) is a Norwegian historian and Middle East expert.

Life

Visser studied history and political science at Bergen University , where he graduated in 1995, and received his PhD in Middle East Studies from Oxford University in 2003 . He joined the Norsk Utenrikspolitisk Institutt (NUPI) (the Norwegian Institute for International Relations) in 1996 , where he has published various studies on the political history of the Middle East.

Since 2011, Visser has been committed to civil rights in Norway, also because he sees himself being persecuted.
