Reinhard Bauer (born July 18, 1950 ) is a German historian, publisher and local politician ( SPD ).

Career

Bauer passed his Abitur at Munich's Maximiliansgymnasium in 1969 and then studied history at the University of Munich and graduated in 1983 with a doctorate on the subject of the oldest border descriptions in Bavaria and their statements for onomatology and history . Since 1980 he has published numerous writings on the history of Munich and on naming. He is the owner of the Bavarica publishing house.

His career as a local politician began in 1972 when he was elected to the Feldmoching-Hasenbergl district committee . After the election on September 25, 1994, he took over a mandate in the Upper Bavaria District Assembly. From January 25, 2006 to April 30, 2014 he was a member of the Munich City Council .

In March 2018 Reinhard Bauer was elected as the new chairman of the Munich Seniors' Advisory Board.
