Reinhard Briese

Reinhard Briese (born July 26, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After completing his secondary school leaving certificate, Briese completed a commercial apprenticeship in real estate and housing management. He passed his business assistant examination and continued to work for a non-profit housing company between 1963 and 1969. In 1965 he completed his eighteen month military service and became a reserve officer. In 1970 he started working for IBM Germany in the software and service center in Hanover.

Between 1968 and 1986 he was councilor of the state capital Hanover and from 1978 CDU parliamentary group chairman. Between 1968 and 1978 he was a member and between 1974 and 1979 chairman of the association assembly of the Greater Hanover Association. Between 1973 and 1974 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there.

Between the 9th and 12th electoral term he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from November 4, 1980 to June 20, 1994 .
