Reinhard Demuth
Reinhard Demuth (born November 18, 1946 in Freistett ; † October 20, 2011 ) was a German chemist and educationalist .
Demuth first studied chemistry, sport and geography at the TH Karlsruhe . After completing his doctorate, he was a teacher in the Hessian school service from 1975. In 1978 he completed his habilitation in inorganic chemistry at the TH Darmstadt . In 1985 he became professor of chemistry and its didactics at what was then PH Kiel . Since 1999 he has been the head of the chemistry didactics department at IPN Kiel . In addition, he was rector of the University of Education in Kiel from 1993 to 1994 and rector of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel from 2000 to 2004 .
Demuth was the editor and editor of the journal Praxis der Naturwissenschaften - Chemie and is the author of numerous scientific articles and specialist books. After his death, a square on the University of Kiel was named after him.
