Reinhard Goltz
Reinhard Goltz (born November 6, 1953 in Hamburg-Finkenwerder ) is a German author, editor of the Prussian dictionary , managing director of the Institute for Low German and spokesman for the Federal Council for Low German .
Goltz is seen as a border crosser between science and practical cultural work. He wrote numerous essays on the Low German language and made many contributions to the radio. Goltz was a member of the cabaret ensemble De Scheewe Dree and worked on various Low German translations (Asterix, Donald Duck, Harry Potter). From 1998 to 2007 he was chairman of the Klaus Groth Society .
Reinhard Goltz has been the spokesman for the Federal Council for Low German (BfN) since 2002 , which is particularly committed to Low German within the framework of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages .
On August 13, 2011, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for decades of commitment to the preservation and maintenance of the Low German language, which is protected under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages .
