Reinhard Hepting

Reinhard Hepting (born September 13, 1946 in Nuremberg ; † December 2, 2012 in Graefelfing ) was a German legal scholar .

Career

Hepting received his doctorate in 1973 from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1974 to 1982 he was a research assistant to Erik Jayme at the Institute for Comparative Law at the University of Munich, where he also completed his habilitation in 1982 . From 1982 to 1984 he was a substitute professor at the Universities of Regensburg and Frankfurt am Main . In 1984 he accepted a professorship for civil law and social law at the University of Cologne . From 1991 he was professor for civil law , international private law and comparative law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz .

Hepting was married and had four children.
