Reinhard Kluge (* around 1940 ) is a German mathematician and university professor .

Life

Kluge received his doctorate in 1968 with a thesis on the subject of some applications of topological methods on bifurcation problems with Arno Langenbach at the Humboldt University of Berlin . In 1970 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on the approximate solution of nonlinear variation inequalities . In the 1980s, Kluge was a professor at the Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . Kluge's research focuses on nonlinear optimization , variation inequalities and approximation methods for solving nonlinear problems.
