Reinhard Schulz (philosopher)

Reinhard Schulz (born February 8, 1951 in Bielefeld ) is a German philosopher .

Life

Schulz finished an handicraft training with the Stadtwerke Bielefeld before a high school on the second education acquired. From 1974 to 1980 he studied biology , philosophy and sociology at Bielefeld University . He then worked as a research assistant at the Department of Biology at the University of Bremen , where he received his doctorate in molecular biology in 1984 . From 1986 to 1996 he was a lecturer for philosophy at the University of Oldenburg and from 1996 to 2005 lecturer for philosophy at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Vechta. In 2000 he completed his habilitation with the acquisition of the venia legendi for philosophy at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. In 2006 he was appointed adjunct professor of philosophy. At the University of Oldenburg he worked from 2009 to 2011 and 2013 to 2015 as a member of the Senate and from 2014 to 2016 as director of the Didactic Center (DiZ). In 2016, Schulz retired from university. He has been President of the International Association of Jaspers Societies since 2017 .

Research priorities

Reinhard Schulz's main research areas include hermeneutics , natural philosophy , questions of subjectification , educational research, and subject and university didactics . He is co-editor of the 50-volume Karl Jaspers Complete Edition .
