Reinhard Theimer
Reinhard Theimer (born February 28, 1948 in Berlin ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the GDR - was successful in hammer throwing in the 1960s and 1970s . His most significant successes are three medal ranks at European Championships (1969: bronze; 1971: silver; 1974: bronze). He also set a new world record on July 4, 1974 at the GDR Championships in Erfurt with 76.60 m, which was improved a good two months later by Alexei Spiridonow . Theimer was GDR champion five times (1968, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1974) and runner-up three times (1967, 1971, 1972).
