The Château La Lagune is one of the famous wineries of Bordeaux . Since the classification of 1855 the winery has been classified as Troisième Grand Cru Classé (third highest level of classifications).

It is located in Ludon-Médoc in the Haut-Médoc appellation , and is the first winery when you come from the city of Bordeaux along the famous wine route, the Route du Vin , in a north-westerly direction. Directly opposite is the also classified winery Château Cantemerle , which has a very beautiful 28 hectare park.

The estate is quite large with around 80 hectares . 60% of the area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon , 30% with Merlot and 10% with Petit Verdot . In recent years, the Cabernet Franc , which was previously grown with a 20% share, has been completely cleared and the shares of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon increased accordingly. The percentage of Petit Verdot is exceptionally high at 10%. In the middle years, the estate produces around 390,000 bottles of its Grand Vin . The second wine of the estate is called Moulin de La Lagune . Around 96,000 bottles are produced annually from this wine, which was called Château Ludon Pomies Agassac until the 1998 vintage . The third wine of the Mademoiselle L Château La Lagune , which has been launched since 2004, is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Among the younger vintages, the wines from 2005 (95 PP ), 2004 (90 PP), 1996 (90 PP), 1990 (90 PP), 1989 (90 PP) and 1982 (90 PP) are very good to excellent.
