The Château Saint-Pierre is a lesser-known wine of Bordeaux . Since the classification of 1855 , the winery has been classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé (fourth level of classification). Château Saint-Pierre has an area of ​​17 hectares, which exclusively produces red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation . The winery is currently run by Jean-Louis Triaud, Henri Martin's son-in-law.

It is in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle . The estate is quite small at around 17 hectares . 70% of the area is planted with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety , 20% with Merlot and 10% with Cabernet Franc . In the middle years the estate produces around 60,000 bottles of wine . The average age of the vines is 40 years. The wine remains in barriques for around twelve months , half of which is replaced annually.

Among the Saint-Pierre vintages, the wines of 2001 ( wine rating : 88–90  PP ), 2000 (89+ PP) and 1990 (90 PP) stand out.

In the early 1980s, Henri Martin combined the manor building with the current vineyard, which previously belonged to the wine merchant M. van den Bussche from Antwerp , Belgium . In 1920 Charles Van Den Bussche acquired the winery with his company Vanden Bussche & Fils . Château Saint-Pierre is accompanied and advised by the oenologist Jacques Boissenot and his son Eric.
