Reinhard von Gemmingen (* 1591 ; † 1638 ) was the landlord in Bonfeld and Eschenau .

Life

He was a son of Pleikard von Gemmingen (1536–1594) and Anna Felicitas Landschad von Steinach. Reinhard von Gemmingen inherited the towns of Bonfeld and Eschenau from his father's property. After the early death of their father, Reinhard and his brother Friedrich (1587–1634) were under the tutelage of Wolf Konrad Greck von Kochendorf . The brothers studied together in Orléans in 1607 and later married the daughters of their guardian. The mother of the Greck daughters was Benedicta von Gemmingen from the Gemmingen-Michelfeld line , who after the death of her brother and last male descendant of that line, Weyirch von Gemmingen-Michelfeld († 1613), enjoyed an extensive inheritance from which the daughters were each awarded 10,000 guilders . After Benedicta's death in 1628, the Greck daughters came to further inheritance, including a ninth each to Lehrensteinsfeld .

Reinhard was married to Anna Agnes Greck von Kochendorf († 1635). The couple remained without offspring. Reinhard's inheritance fell to Wolf Friedrich (1612–1666) and Weirich von Gemmingen (1622–1678), the sons of Reinhard's brother Friedrich (1587–1634), who was married to Anna Sibylla Greck von Kochendorf († 1671). Negotiations for the legacy of the Greck sisters took longer. The severely fragmented property in Lehrensteinsfeld was sold by the large community of heirs to Ludwig von Schmidberg in 1649 .
