Reinhold Tüxen Society
The Reinhold-Tüxen-Gesellschaft e. V. (RTG) is the German-speaking scientific society for vegetation science . It is named after Reinhold Tüxen , the spiritual father of plant sociology in Germany. The head office is located at the Institute for Geobotany of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover , currently chairman Richard Pott .
There are four working groups within the RTG:
- " Vegetation History "; Head: Felix Bittmann
- " Syntaxonomy "; Head: Hartmut Dierschke
- " Vegetation Dynamics "; Head: Stefan Klotz
- " Biomonitoring / Global Change"; Head: Conradin Burga
- “ Moors / Moorewälder ” (currently inactive).
The RTG organizes, among other things, scientific conferences and symposia. Since 1989 it has published the annual “Reports of the Reinhold-Tüxen-Gesellschaft” (previously: “Writings of the Reinhold-Tüxen-Gesellschaft”) about its activities and results.
