Reinhold Fischer (folk singer)

Reinhold Fischer (born October 5, 1877 in Leipzig ; † April 13, 1960 there ) was a German folk singer.

Life

In terms of his voice, Fischer was a bass player. In addition to his singing activities at various Saxon gentlemen's singers' societies, he also emerged as a composer and lyricist who wrote songs, e.g. Sometimes in the Ore Mountains dialect, and composed comical one-act plays for the stage. At times he published his works in his own publishing house. Some of his Erzgebirge songs were also published as song postcards by Wilhelm Vogel , Schwarzenberg i. E.

Fischer was a member of Kluge-Zimmermann's Leipzig singers around 1890, also of Wilhelm Eyles Leipzig singers , where he sang as 2nd bass, and later of the Leipzig Seidel singers and the Leipzig Krystallpalast singers . Membership in the latter was often mentioned on the labels of the gramophone records, which speaks for their advertising effectiveness.

As early as the 1910s he made gramophone recordings for Lindström's “Beka” label, some of which were also published by “Odeon”. At the end of the 1920s, he recorded again for the Leipzig "Isiphon" brands Electrocord and Cordy.
