Wilhelm Eyles Leipzig singer

Wilhelm Eyle's Leipzig singers were a Saxon gentlemen 's singing society , which was founded in Leipzig in 1863 by the German singer Wilhelm Eyle as the "Leipzig Quartet and Concert Singing Society".

It has been called "Wilhelm Eyles Leipziger Singer" since 1893. A picture postcard from 1911 shows the former members, including Martin Mühlau .

Friedrich Karl Wilhelm Eyle

Friedrich Karl Wilhelm Eyle (* March 24, 1840 ; † July 20, 1904 ) was a tenor and author of many works for male choir; he also wrote cheerful solo scenes, songs and couplets . He was the father of Edgar Eyle.

Edgar Eyle

Edgar Eyle (born October 9, 1868 , † April 13, 1946 ) was a member of his father Wilhelm's society as early as 1894. He played several instruments and also composed for them. In 1907 he became a master songwriter with the "Emil Meysel Singers" [1]. From 1911 to 1914 he was a member of the "Leipziger Lyrika-Singern". Together with Ferdinand Schmidt, he was director of the "Leipziger Sängers" of his father Wilhelm Eyle. He left recordings on “Grammophon”. On their labels he is listed as a member of the “Leipzig Crystal Palace Singers”.
