Reinhold Franz

Reinhold Hermann Franz (born July 3, 1863 in Neu-Gersdorf , Oberlausitz , † after 1942) was a German classical philologist and grammar school teacher .

Reinhold Franz, son of a weaver, attended grammar school in Zittau and studied at Leipzig University from 1883 , where he received his doctorate in 1890. In the same year he passed the state examination for teaching and did his probationary year at the Nicolaischule in Leipzig in 1891/92 . From Easter 1892 he directed a higher private boys' school in Peterswaldau in Silesia. From October 1894 he taught at the Realgymnasium in Annaberg until he was temporarily retired on March 31, 1923 in the course of the downsizing of civil servants .

Like numerous other high school teachers, he wrote articles for Wilhelm Heinrich Roscher's Detailed Lexicon of Greek and Roman Mythology .
