history

Reinhold Kühn AG emerged from the Reinhold Kühn company founded in Berlin in 1853. Reinhold Kühn (1827–1891) was the son of Gustav Kühn (1794–1868), who printed the Neuruppiner picture sheets in Neuruppin , and brother of Bernhard (1819–1889), who succeeded his father; his uncle Carl (1782-1860) already owned a paper mill and printing shop in Pankow .

The owner of the company was Georg Friedrich Wilhelm Eberhard Kühn (* October 20, 1858 - February 3, 1924), who, already purveyor to the court and councilor of commerce , was given the title of secret councilor on September 21, 1903.

On December 23, 1922, the Reinhold Kühn company was converted into a stock corporation. Reinhold Maximilian Eberhard Kühn (born September 3, 1895; † 1947), son of Georg Friedrich Wilhelm Kühn, was a board member and major shareholder of the AG. Other shareholders were the brothers Erich Felix Georg Johann Bernhard and Gustav Wilhelm Helmut Kühn. The share capital was RM 150,000  .

The seat of the administration was in Berlin, Leipziger Strasse 115/116 and the printing works at Gneisenaustrasse 67, also in Berlin. The property totaled 2618 m², of which 1740 m² were built on.

After the Second World War , Reinhold Maximilian Eberhard Kühn was arrested on June 9, 1945; because he supposedly made scriptures and forms for the military. He died on May 10, 1947 in Soviet captivity in Buchenwald 2 camp of an intestinal infection ( enterocolitis ).

According to the order of the American military government of November 9, 1945, Artur Bröge and Heinz Kemper were initially appointed as trustees . On January 16, 1946, Artur Bröge was appointed the sole trustee of Reinhold Kühn AG. In July 1947, Max Melzer became trustee and manager of the company.
