Reinoud II. Van Brederode ( German also Rainald , * 1415 in Santpoort , † October 16, 1473 in Vianen ) was a Dutch nobleman from the Brederode family .

He was the son of Walraven I. van Brederode and Johanna van Vianen, whom he inherited as the ninth lord of Brederode. In addition, he held the title of Vrijheeren von Vianen and Ameide , a gentleman from Lexmond , Heicop , Boicop , Meerkerk , Tienhoven and Twaalfhoven . His paternal uncle Willem van Brederode was the ruler of Brederode until his official appointment as lord in 1438.

In 1445 he was accepted into the Order of the Golden Fleece and named hereditary burgrave of Utrecht . He was also a knight in the Order of Jerusalem. Reinoud stood by his brother Gijsbrecht van Brederode , the prince-bishop of Utrecht, in his dispute with David of Burgundy . The Brederode brothers were captured and tortured by him. After 1470, they were given freedom back by Charles the Bold . Reinoud II was unable to recover after these events.

Reinoud II was married to Elisabeth Willems; There were seven children from this marriage, but they were not considered lawful and were therefore considered bastards . In 1458 Reinoud II married again, this time with Yolanda van Lalaing, a daughter of Willem van Lalaing . This marriage had seven more children, including Walraven II and Franz van Brederode .
