Reinsberg (also Reinsperg or Regensberg ) is the name of a family belonging to the Meissnian nobility with the parent house of the same name north of Freiberg in Saxony, which later also spread to Silesia and Lower Lusatia .

History and origin

The family was first mentioned in a document on April 24, 1197 with Reynhard de Regensberg , where Reinsberg near Freiberg is regarded as the family seat. In addition, Heinrichsdorf also belonged to the family from 1343. Then also Bloischendorf near Spremberg . Family members can be proven several times in the Prussian army. They sold their headquarters, Reinsberg Castle , to the von Schönberg family in 1404 .

In Silesia, the family occurs particularly in the Duchy of Liegnitz , where Dürschwitz / Dirskewitz is regarded as its ancestral seat. The line of trunks begins there in 1418 with Melchior von Reinsberg in Sorau . In 1452 Hans von Reinsberg auf Dürschwitz was mentioned, who still lived there in 1469. In 1455 the brothers Wenzel, Conrad and Hans von Reinsberg on Groß-Tinz , in 1506 Hans von Reinsberg on Dürschwitz and in 1510 on Schützendorf are mentioned in a document. Towards the end of the 16th century the family also appeared in the Duchy of Brieg , where it was written after the Arnsdorf family. In 1586 Christoph von Reinsberg on Arnsdorf, 1591 Leonhard von Reinsberg on Arnsdorf and Wonnwitz as well as on Münchhof in the Duchy of Münsterberg are mentioned in a document . He was married to Eva von Warkotsch from the Siblitz family.

In the course of the 17th century the family disappeared from Silesia, but continued to flourish in Saxony, where their descendants have appeared even more recently. In Bohemia members resigned on grounds of sex and have there as "Rensperger of Rensperg" ( Renšpergár for Renšperku ) the Inkolat received. In 1665 Johann Carl Rensperger von Rensperg and 1669 Peter Rensperger von Rensperg were mentioned in documents.
