A final artwork is

  1. a final file that can be sent to print .
  2. a broadcast-ready template for the broadcast area .

The final artwork in print

The final artwork is a print-ready typesetting file (see e.g. QuarkXPress , Adobe InDesign , Adobe PageMaker , Adobe Illustrator , LaTeX ). In it, the images and texts placed in the layout are checked for their printability and corrected if necessary. These include image resolution , bleed allowance , color management and trapping .

In larger workflows, the layout is created by a graphic designer or art director and is only prepared for printing in the final phase by a final draftsman.

The final artwork is created at the end of the graphic design of a printed matter. After the finalization, a PDF is created that is used directly in the print shop for plate exposure.
