African Union passport
The passport of the African Union ( English African Union Passport ), also African passport (English African Passport ) is an official passport that is issued by the African Union . It is currently being issued to citizens of all African countries in parallel to national passports . The aim is to replace national passports in the future and to enable visa-free travel for all Africans on the continent.
The AU passport was presented on July 17, 2016 at the 27th AU State Congress in Kigali , the capital of Rwanda . It should be recognized worldwide by 2020.
The pass is written in Arabic , English , French , Portuguese and Swahili . He is red.
Passport types
There are three types of AU passports:
- Ordinary passport
- This passport is issued to all African citizens, contains 32 pages and is valid for five years.
- Service passport
- Issued only to employees of government agencies and only for business travel.
- Diplomatic passport
- Issue only to diplomats and consular employees and their immediate relatives; only for business travel.
