Reishauer is a Swiss machine tool manufacturer based in Wallisellen that manufactures generating grinding machines for toothing of gears .

history

Established as a toolmaker (from 1788)

The company was founded in 1788 by tool smith Hans Jakob Däniker as a craft business in Zurich . Däniker's son Gottfried Reishauer trained as a tool smith in the shop and took over the management in 1824. In 1870 the company was officially registered as a tool factory. In 1882 the Aktiengesellschaft für Fabrication Reishauer'scher Tools was founded and the portfolio was expanded to include thread cutting tools and thread gauges .

The step to mechanical engineering (from 1924)

Since the thread grinding machines that were currently on the market did not meet Reishauer's requirements, they designed their own thread grinding machine from 1924. In 1928, RK Thread started work in the factory and marked the move to become a mechanical engineer. In 1931 the first self-made machine for grinding taps was put into operation. Reishauer soon began not only to produce the machines for their own use, but also to sell them to other companies. In this way the company was able to bridge the declining demand for tools in the years after 1929.

The introduction of the generating grinding process and the rise to an international company (from 1945)

Generating grinding machine from Reishauer from 1945

In 1945, the first tooth flank gear grinding machine ZA came onto the market, with which generating grinding, what is now known as the Reishauer process, was introduced. This machine was preceded by 15 years of development, because Reishauer wanted to find a more precise, faster and more cost-effective way of manufacturing gears. In 1968 a new generating grinding machine was produced with the AZA, which was based on the same process, but thanks to the lower operating effort, allowed one person to operate several machines at the same time. Reishauer thus took the first step towards automating the generating grinding process. At the same time, production was expanded to include gears not only for mechanical engineering, but also for printing machines, trucks, tractors and pumps. The electronic pitch coupling introduced in 1977 with the RZ300E ensured a precision that met the requirements of the aircraft industry. In 1986, with the RZ301S, shift grinding was developed from generating grinding, which enabled constant grinding forces and higher profile accuracy. With the RZ362A, the first high-performance gear grinding machine, the company entered the automotive industry in 1993, and the Low Noise Shifting (LNS) process was introduced, with which undesired gear noises could be reduced. In 1998 the company started its own diamond tool production and laid the foundation for its own performance system, the Circle of Competence.

Universal machine and technological advancement (from 2001)

Generating grinding machine RZ 160

In 2001, with the RZ400, the first universal machine came onto the market that included the rolling module developed by Reishauer with interference suppression and extremely high drive rigidity, as well as a Windows user interface, safety monitoring of the drive axes and grinding at 63 m / s cutting speed and multi-start dressing and grinding . With the RZ150 developed in 2003 and the two-spindle technology, a further increase in productivity was achieved. The machine was specially designed for car gearbox parts. In 2006 the RZ1000 came onto the market, which, like the RZ400 before, was particularly popular in job shops .

In 2008 Reishauer started producing grinding wheels and built a new, fully automated plant for this in Pfaffnau . In 2009 the RZ60 series (RZ60, 160, 260) was designed, which was mainly aimed at the automotive industry, but also at job shops, and further increased the productivity of the Reishauer process. In 2010 Reishauer started developing clamping devices , which came onto the market in 2012. In 2014 Reishauer automation was introduced as part of the company's own performance system.

Corporate structure

Reishauer AG is a subsidiary of Reishauer Beteiligungen AG, to which the German Felsomat AG belongs since 2010. The most important customers are the automotive industry and its suppliers. Reishauer has branches in Germany , France , Japan , China and the USA .

Products

Reishauer manufactures generating grinding machines as well as diamond and CBN tools for dressing and grinding, clamping systems and automation solutions. All components come from a single source with more than 80% vertical integration . Machines are specifically designed and built for the respective customer. Reishauer offers complete systems for the production of high-quality gears, which also include loading and unloading systems for the gear grinding machines. Almost 100% of the products are exported to companies abroad. Reishauer describes its own performance system as the Circle of Competence, in which all machine components are manufactured in-house.
