The riding hall Munich is a former riding hall in Munich district of Schwabing-West , which is used as a venue today. It was built in 1894 for the 2nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Kronprinz" in the Oberwiesenfeld barracks district and then used as a parade hall. Around a century later, the building, which is now a listed building, was restored in the neo-Romanesque style. The interior of the approximately 1200 square meters (17.6 × 68.9 m) large hall was preserved. The interior of the hall can be changed thanks to the open design without any load-bearing elements. Depending on the room layout and interior design, there is space for up to 780 people. The hall belongs to the Free State of Bavaria , is leased to a private GmbH and can be used as an event hall. Here sometimes u. a. performances by the Bavarian State Opera also take place.
