Reitweiner spur
The Reitweiner Sporn , which is also called Reitweiner Nase , is a striking, wooded range of hills that protrudes far into the Oderbruch and at the top of which is the municipality of Reitwein . Together with the Seelower heights, the ridge forms the boundary between the Oderbruch and the Lebuser Platte.
location
As an extension of the Lebuser plateau (Lebuser Plateaus), the Reitweiner Sporn protrudes far into the Oder Valley. It is a long chain of hills that drops steeply to the Oderbruch. It was created as a bulging slope of the Uroder . The soil is loamy and the area is criss-crossed by small valleys.
The earliest signs of settlement can be traced back to the Slavic Middle Ages. The Reitweiner Wallberge , a fortified Slavic settlement that was built between the 8th and 10th centuries, is located approx. 1 km south of Reitwein directly on a bulging slope on the Oder Valley.
Others
Below the Reitweiner spur towards the Oder there is a towing area for paragliders .
