Release formats (warez)
The list contains the most common variants of film releases from the warez scene.
The names of the publications are based on a fixed scheme: Name.Year.Language.Image.Tone.Format-group

The table sorts the formats based on their quality, starting with worst to best.

very often | The picture is filmed from the screen by a camcorder or smartphone . Copies of this kind are distributed very quickly after a film is released.
The quality varies from invisible to good, depending on the filming person and the quality of the camera used. In addition, the camera can be moved while filming or people can walk through the image. |

TS TELESYNC |
very often | The image is filmed from a screen by a professional camera with a tripod .
With this technique, the picture is usually good, but has fades or insufficient contrast. |
Working version |
WP WORKPRINT |
very rare | The picture comes from an unfinished version of the film.
Effects and overlays are usually missing, and sometimes the index markers are also included . There may be watermarks and it is possible that the film has not yet been cut and therefore has different visual material. |
Film scanning |
TC TELECiNE |
Rare | The image is taken by means of a transfer machine / the digitization of the analog film rolls.
The quality is close to that of a DVD, typically with jitter at the side edges and much poorer color reproduction. |
VHS recording | VHS-RiP | Rare | A video cassette serves as the source. Mostly in connection with a missing new release.
The quality may vary depending on the condition of the source. |

If you purchased this film at a retail store, please contact 1-800-NO-COPIES to report it. "Available. Some scenes are also black and white.
Depending on the source, the designation can be adapted, for example for a DVD SCREENER. |
DVD from another region | R5 | frequently | The image is taken from a DVD publication for DVD region 5.
The picture quality is close to DVD, since in the R5 region DVD is mostly published as a single layer. |

Audio labels
In addition to the direct recording of the audio track parallel to the video, it is also common for these audio tracks to be dubbed, i.e. played back, afterwards. This is indicated by adding DUBBED or in abbreviation D. From MiC is then MD .
