Religious Education Academy
Religious Education Academies (RPA for short) were responsible for the training of religious teachers at general compulsory schools in Austria . The study largely corresponded to that at a (general) pedagogical academy .
RPAs have existed since 1971 for Catholic and Protestant religion teachers, for Judaism and, for some years, for Islam . Training centers for other religious communities were in preparation.
The advanced and advanced training took place at religious education institutes .
Since 2007/08, most pedagogical and religious education academies in Austria have been run within the framework of teacher training colleges .
