René Barrientos (boxer)
René Barrientos (* 25. July 1943 in Balete , Aklan , Philippines ) is a former Filipino boxers in the super featherweight and southpaw .
Barrientos made his professional debut against Charlie Kid in October 1962 with a classic knockout .
On February 15, 1969 Barrientos went against Ruben Navarro for the vacant World Championship title of the WBC and won over 15 rounds on points. However, he lost this belt the following year to Yoshiaki Numata through a split point decision, also over 15 rounds.
