René Röder (born May 15, 1962 in Koethen (Anhalt) ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Röder played for BSG Motor Gröbzig from 1966 to 1975, in 1975 for a few months for BSG activist Brieske-Senftenberg and then in the youth teams of BSG Energie Cottbus. There he made the jump to the reserve team, for which he played in the district league. Röder made his debut in the first men's team in a 4-1 win over FSV Lok Dresden on March 29, 1981. In the 1980/81 season he was in the starting line-up four more times. He scored a total of two goals. After promotion to the first-class league, he came on August 22, 1981 against Rot-Weiß Erfurt to his first and only league game. It ended in a 5-0 defeat. During this season, Röder mostly played for the reserve team, for which he scored six goals in 18 games. After five missions and one goal in the GDR league in 1983/84 , Röder moved to SG Dynamo Cottbus for a year, before joining BSG Energie Cottbus again in 1985. For energy, he still completed 16 games. In 1986 he went to BSG Chemie Guben and in 1987 to BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . In 1987/88 Röder advanced to become a regular for Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt in the GDR league. He scored six goals in 31 games. In the following season he was on the field eleven times until the end of 1988. Then Röder went back to the GDR league club Chemie Guben in the summer of 1989 and scored three goals in 14 games. In 1992 he played again for a year with the amateurs of FC Energie Cottbus and from 1996 to the end of his career in 2000 with SV Dissenchen 04 .
