René Roux

René Roux (born September 3, 1966 in Aosta ) is an Italian Roman Catholic church historian .

Life

After studying Catholic theology , philosophy and patrology at the Seminary of Sant'Anselmo in Aosta, ordaining priestly in 1991 and studying at the universities of Rome , Oxford and Paris , he was awarded the title of L'exégèse biblique dans les Homélies cathédrales de Sévère d ' in 1999 . Antioche received his doctorate at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Augustinianum . Since 2010 he has held the professorship for Ancient Church History , Patrology and Eastern Church Studies at the University of Erfurt . He is on leave from February 1, 2015 to August 31, 2018, as he is the rector of the Lugano Theological Faculty .

In his research he focuses on the reception of the Church Fathers in the theology of religions and the theology of Liber Graduum .
