René Schuster

René H. Schuster (born December 17, 1961 in New York City , United States ) is a German manager. From June 2009 to the end of January 2014 he was Chairman of the Management Board of Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG .

Career

Schuster was born to German parents in New York. He studied electrical engineering at San Diego State University and then worked as a development engineer at Robert Bosch GmbH .

After graduating with a Master of Business Administration from the University of La Verne, Schuster worked for the consulting firm KPMG from 1996 to 2000 . From 1999 to 2004 he worked for Hewlett-Packard , where he initiated the takeover of Compaq . From 2004 to 2006 Schuster was head of global marketing for the Vodafone Group in London. He then became Managing Director of the personnel service provider Adecco in Great Britain and Ireland.

From June 2009 he was Chairman of the Management Board of Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG. At the end of January 2014, the company announced that Schuster would leave the company on January 31, 2014. He is currently Veon's Chief Operating Officer (COO) .

Schuster lives with his wife and two children in Feldafing on Lake Starnberg.
