The Adecco Group (the Adecco Group AG ) is one of the world's largest providers of personnel services and one of the world's largest employers. The company mediates jobs between employers and applicants. The Swiss- based company is one of the Fortune Global 500 companies and is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (ADEN). Adecco is represented in over 60 countries with over 34,000 employees in around 5,300 branches. In 1996 the company emerged from the merger of the Swiss Adia Interim and the French Ecco .

In 1996 Adecco was created through the merger of the Swiss Adia Interim , which was founded in 1957 by Henri-Ferdinand Lavanchy , and the French Ecco , which came onto the market in 1964. This merger was not completed in France, where Ecco will henceforth operate as Adecco , the Adia company will remain, as will the competitive relationship between the two brands.

The company's early history is shaped by various takeovers. The TAD , a specialized technical professions American staffing company, was taken over in 1997th 1999 bought Adecco company Delphi , a staffing company with a focus on IT careers and Career Staff , a small staffing companies the general placement. Adecco took over Olsten in 2000 . The takeover was officially referred to as a merger, but the Olsten brand disappeared and was completely transferred to Adecco . In 2002 Adecco bought shares in the diaconal vocational advancement organizations. Adecco also took over the Internet recruiter jobpilot in 2002 and sold it to Monster Worldwide two years later .

In 2002 there was a restructuring from a temporary employment agency to a personnel service provider. From now on, the Adecco Group will essentially operate under three brands, which represent the three divisions: Adecco (classic temporary agency work), Ajilon (placement of specialists) and Lee Hecht Harrison ( outplacement ). In 2003, the business figures could only be announced six months later, which caused the share price to collapse by 35% and an audit with costs of around 100 million euros. In 2006 and 2007 Adecco took over the company Deutsche Industrie Service AG , a personnel service provider with a focus on business people and technicians, and Tuja temporary employment . At the subsequent annual general meeting, Jürgen Dormann was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Rolf Dörig was appointed Deputy Chairman. Chairman of the Board of Directors. Klaus J. Jacobs , the co-founder of Adecco, resigned his mandate. In January 2009 Dormann was replaced by Dörig. In 2010 Adecco took over the US-based MPS Group, Inc. and entered into a joint venture with Fesco, a Chinese personnel service provider. In September 2015, Alain Dehaze replaced Patrick De Maeseneire at the top of the company as Chief Executive Officer for the Adecco Group.
