The Partners Group Holding AG , based in Baar is on private equity specialist, internationally active Swiss asset management company . The company employs over 1,300 people with assets under management of around 80 billion euros (as of mid-2019) in the areas of private equity, mezzanine , private real estate and private infrastructure . Partners Group Holding is listed on the Swiss stock exchange SIX Swiss Exchange listed , all employees and partners around two thirds of the shares hold at the company. With a market capitalization of over CHF 14 billion, the company is one of the world's largest listed asset managers in the field of private market investments . The financial services provider Morgan Stanley stands firm in 2017 around 17% of the voting rights .

history

Partners Group was founded in January 1996. In 1999 and 2000 the company opened its first branches abroad in Guernsey and New York , followed by further branches in 2004 in London and Singapore , in 2007 in San Francisco and Tokyo , in 2008 in Sydney , Luxembourg and Beijing , and in 2010 in Dubai , Seoul and Munich and followed in 2011 in São Paulo and Paris . In 2016, a branch in Manila and a new North American headquarters in Denver were opened. The Partners Group operates 20 offices around the world (as of 2017).

With the takeover of Swiss Alternative Investment Strategies Group AG, a hedge fund company founded by members of the former hedge fund team of Credit Suisse Asset Management in Zurich, the company entered the hedge fund business in 2001.

In March 2006 the company went public through an IPO .

In 2007, Partners Group announced the takeover of discretionary asset management from the US Pension Consulting Alliance, Inc. (PCA), which operates in the private real estate asset management sector.

In 2007, the hedge fund business was shut down due to the strategic focus on serving private market segments only. In early 2010, Partners Group and Sciens Capital Management sold the managed account platform.

In mid-September 2011, Partners Group Holding AG became part of the Swiss Small & Mid Cap Index ( SMIM Index ), which comprises the 50 largest listed companies in Switzerland. On November 30, 2011, Partners Group Holding AG was included in the MSCI Switzerland Index .

In 2019, Partners Group took over the Schleich shares from Ardian .

Investment approach

Partners Group's investment approach is based on a combination of direct, secondary and primary market investments within the private equity , private real estate and private infrastructure industries. This approach enables institutional clients to build a diversified portfolio in the private market across all asset classes.
