René Steininger (2020)

René Steininger (born May 30, 1970 in Paris ) is an Austrian poet and prose writer.

Life

Steininger was born to Austrian parents in Paris and grew up in Prague , Helsinki , Vienna and Kuwait .

After graduating from the French baccalaureate , he studied philosophy and history in Vienna from 1989 and received his doctorate in 1996 with a thesis on Friedrich Nietzsche in the reception of French postmodernism .

He worked as a freelance author in Hamburg and from 2000 as a lecturer at the German Institute in Bucharest and Bratislava. Since his return to Vienna in 2006 he has been working as a freelance German teacher.

Artistic creation

In Bucherverlag Steininger published in 2008 and 2011, the two volumes rinforzando and tremolando. Another seven works followed, in 2013 in the Edition Art Science Gravitöne and the Anthropocene Tetralogy with a lyrical footnote apparatus published by the Red Numbers publishing house . Steininger prefers the genre of poetry and short aphoristic prose. In his texts, he combines German mother tongue, French influences and Anglo-American models to create a poetic minimalism.
