The Red Numbers publishing house , based in Buxtehude , was founded by Hans-Joachim Griebe in 2012. He was clearly active until 2017. The publisher's main focus was the publication of contemporary German-language poetry .

Three years after it was founded, Griebe had already published texts by around fifty authors in around 25 books - anthologies and individual publications. Several authors of the publishing house, most of whom appeared or appear in other publishers, received literary prizes, for example Nora Gomringer the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize.

The publisher has not published any new books since 2018, but is working exclusively on reprinting all 30 titles of edition Rote Zahl in the uniform 12 × 19 format as hard and soft covers. The aim is to give future generations a complete overview of the work of the 1990s to 2010s. The publisher relies on a uniform book design that makes it possible to produce a 30-volume complete edition.

The Red Numbers publishing house also relies uncompromisingly on print. All e-book editions that the publisher has published in the past will be deleted.
