Frank Klötgen (* 1968 in Essen ) is a German slam poet and musician .

life and work

Klötgen attended the Essen-Überruhr grammar school until 1988 and studied communication sciences , English and marketing . He is the singer and lyricist for the band Marilyn's Army . In 1998 he was awarded the Pegasus Prize by ZEIT for the hyperfiction eel escort der Ölig . In 2004 the hyperfiction novel Spätwinterhitze (CD-ROM) was published; In 2005 Klötgen's online musical Endlose Liebe / Endless Love premiered; In 2007 the book Will Kacheln was published . Klötgen has been organizing the Essen slam show Grend Slam since 2005 , is a member of the Berlin reading stage Berliner Wald and the slam team Agrar Berlin (2nd place at the Slam National 2005). He has been writing the Stadtkind blog on tagesspiegel.de since 2007, and has been on the road with the Klötgen & Koslovsky program since 2008 , which won the first poetry slam on sueddeutsche.de in 2009. In spring 2010, Klötgen's first novel Der Fall Schelling was published . In June 2011 he was Writer in Residence in the philological and cultural studies faculty of the University of Innsbruck . In September 2013 he organized the state poetry slam championships in Essen. At the beginning of 2017 his one-year "Poetry Slam Farewell Tour" ended after almost 200 appearances in 19 countries on four continents. Since June 2020 he has been part of the new ensemble of the Munich Lach- und Schießgesellschaft along with Christl Sittenauer and Sebastian Fritz .

He lives and works in Munich .
