René Wessels (born September 7, 1985 in Kloosterhaar ) is a Dutch football player . The striker has been playing for SC Roland Beckum since 2015 .

Career

Wessels began playing football at FC Emmen, where he appeared for several years in the Eerste Divisie and played from 2006 to 2009 in Germany for SV Meppen . From August 2009 he played two years for BV Veendam in the second Dutch league and returned to SV Meppen in July 2011, after its promotion to the Regionalliga Nord . On June 4, 2013, SV Lippstadt 08 , who had been promoted to the Regionalliga West , announced that they had signed René Wessels for one year. The striker suffered an Achilles tendon rupture on the first match day and was out for the rest of the first half of the season. In February 2014 he made his comeback on the pitch, but he could no longer prevent the Lippstadt from being relegated to the league. In summer 2015 he switched to SC Roland Beckum .
