Renata Chlumska (born September 9, 1973 in Malmö ) is a Swedish - Czech extreme mountaineer .

Career

Chlumska has both Swedish and Czech citizenship . In 1999 she was the first Swede or Czech to climb Mount Everest . Before that, she'd already done the Seven Summits .

She was engaged to Göran Kropp , who died in a mountain accident in 2002. In 2005, she implemented Kropp's original plans in an "Around America Adventure" in which she crossed the 48 states of the Continental United States in a kayak or on a bike . In 2014 she climbed Denali , Puncak Jaya , Elbrus , Aconcagua and Mount Vinson .

Chlumska lives in Malmö.
