Renate Ameis

Renate Ameis (married Renate Ziegler ) (born March 27, 1943 ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Amis, a 1.90 meter tall indoor player, took part in the European Championship in 1964, 1966, 1968 and 1972 with the women's national team of the German Democratic Republic . At the EM in 1966 she was the best scorer of the GDR selection with 16.6 points per game, which won the bronze medal at this tournament. She played 86 international matches for the GDR. At club level she played at HfV Lok Dresden and in Leipzig.
