Renate Drewke

Renate Drewke (born March 6, 1952 in Ennepetal ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

After her training at the city of Hagen from 1966 to 1969, she initially worked in the personnel office. After that she was employed in the personnel department of Sparkasse Hagen from 1972 , before she became a consultant at the local employers' association of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1976. She held this position until 1995.

In the state elections on May 14, 1995 , she was elected as a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . There she was the spokeswoman for women's politics for the SPD parliamentary group and later chairwoman of the administrative structure reform committee.

From January 1, 2003 to July 22, 2005, she was the district president of the Arnsberg district . Since then she has been working as a freelance management consultant.

In the mayoral election in Herdecke on August 30, 2009, she lost 29.1 percent to her competitor Katja Strauss-Köster with 70.9 percent.
