Renate Hendricks
Renate Maria Hendricks (born January 23, 1952 in Aachen ) is a German politician ( SPD ).
With a short break in 2010, she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2005 to 2017 . From September 7, 2010, she was also deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group and in this role was responsible for the areas of education, science, technology, Europe and One World.
Life
Renate Hendricks studied social pedagogy and psychology at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and the University of Bonn from 1970 to 1978 . After graduating as a social pedagogue, she worked from 1973 to 1977 in the management of the social service of a workshop for the disabled. She has been a housewife since 1977, she is married and has five children.
politics
Hendricks was a member of the FDP in the 1990s and has been a member of the SPD since 2004. From 1989 to 2005 she was a member of the school committee of the city of Bonn. Since June 8, 2005 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, whose committees for generations, family and integration as well as for school and further education she belonged to. Between 2006 and 2008 she was the spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group in the Enquête Commission "Chances for Children - Framework Conditions and Control Options for Optimal Care and Education in North Rhine-Westphalia". In the North Rhine-Westphalian state elections on May 9, 2010 , she neither achieved a direct mandate in her constituency of Bonn II , nor did she enter the state parliament via the reserve list of the NRW SPD . Following the formation of a red-green minority government under Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft in August 2010 , she moved into the state parliament for her party friend Marc Jan Eumann as the first successor on the reserve list , as he was appointed permanent state secretary in the Ministry for Federal Affairs , Europe and the media. In the new election to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament on May 13, 2012 , she succeeded in obtaining a direct mandate, with which the constituency of Bonn II fell to the candidate of the SPD for the first time in the state's history. She did not run for the 2017 state election.
voluntary work
Hendricks has been doing volunteer work with parents since 1979 . Initially as chair of the kindergarten advisory board of the Protestant Wichernkindergarten in Bonn. In 1983 she started working in the field of school care . Between 1983 and 1996, Hendricks served as the head of the school caretaker for her children's elementary school. In 1984 she also founded a development association there and, as a representative of the elementary schools, became a member of the board of the Bonn city school council . From 1986 to 1991 she was initially deputy, from 1992 to 2005 chairwoman of the Bonn City School Maintenance Agency. From 1995 she was chairwoman of the school attendants of the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium in Bonn.
In 1984 Hendricks took over the chairmanship of the elementary school group in the Parents' Council in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1987 the foundation of the state parenting elementary schools NRW e. V., of which she was chairman between 1987 and 1997. This activity was followed in 1997 by the chairmanship of the state parenthood of the grammar schools in NRW e. V., which she held until 1998. Between 1995 and 1998 she was also the first deputy chairman of the Federal Parents ' Council before she was elected chairman in 1998. She stayed in this position until 2004.
With the founding of a sponsoring association to take over the Brohl-Lützing school camp, she has also been chairwoman of this association since 2001.
